The Youth Band has been an integral part of Dereham Band for many years providing the band with a supply of young and enthusiastic players 'coming up through the ranks'.

Although in the last three years or so, the numbers in the Youth Band had dwindled, the remaining players were not deterred and carried on rehearsing on a Monday night, albeit with a number of different conductors.

More recently the numbers in the band have picked up and with the support of a handful of regular senior band  players the youngsters have improved a great deal, so much so they played out on their own for the first time in a long time, at a church fete in Dereham.  It was a great success.
